With the Curvex CX Grand Central Tourbillon Baguette, Franck Muller redefines the very notion of the spotlight in watchmaking, placing the tourbillon not where tradition dictates, but at the heart of the timepiece. This bold reimagining invites a new way of reading time. Moving the tourbillon from its conventional position at 6 o’clock to the very centre required not just mechanical innovation, but a conceptual transformation of the timekeeper itself

Entirely set with baguette-cut diamonds on a rose gold case and dial, this stunning timepiece features a showstopping total of 26.12 carats. Each gemstone is finely hand-set with the iconic invisible setting, allowing the diamonds to sparkle concealing the metal frame work, hiding the prongs and creating an uninterrupted surface of light.

The dial is conceived to draw the eye toward the very core of this timepiece, where the tourbillon takes centre stage. It becomes part of the architecture of the movement itself, shaped to enhance depth, light and visual perspective. Layers, finishes and structural elements have been carefully orchestrated to create a sense of motion radiating from the heart of the timepiece. Whether viewed from the side, front or through the sapphire crystal, the dial offers a three-dimensional experience, transforming the passage of time into a visual journey rather than a simple reading of hours and minutes.

In this collection, time is structured around the tourbillon. The hour and minute hands have been positioned around the cage in a harmonious circular display, a feat achieved through a clever stacking of components, without increasing the thickness of the timepiece. Its bridge indicates the seconds, integrating time display directly into the tourbillon’s rotation.

At the core of the Curvex CX Grand Central Tourbillon Baguette lies the in-house MVT FM CX 36TCTR movement, composed of 313 components, and holding a self-winding system with an eccentric micro rotor, offering 4 days of power reserve, a rare feature in a Franck Muller Tourbillon collection. The open case back reveals traditional finishes such as Côte de Genève, offering a visual contrast between classic craftsmanship and modern innovation.

The Curvex CX Grand Central Tourbillon Baguette is housed in the latest evolution of Franck Muller’s iconic tonneau shape, known for its flowing, harmonious curves that create a bold and elegant silhouette. The distinctive design of the Curvex CX represents the brand’s identity, defined by fluid contours that deliver a seamless visual appeal. The case also features an inner bezel, here set with baguette-cut diamonds as well, and an edge-to-edge sapphire crystal, adding a unique and refined touch to its contemporary aesthetic.
