Brand stories

In the heart of Geneva, where tradition meets bold innovation, Franck Muller continues to push the boundaries of time with the unveiling of new interpretations of the Round Triple Mystery collection at World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie 2026.

This latest unveiling builds upon a story that began with a singular idea – the Mystery. During a business trip, Franck Muller, co-founder of the brand, experienced a profound cross-cultural encounter that left a lasting impression. Inspired by the fluid and unbound perception of time in certain cultures – where time is embraced at one’s own pace and on one’s own terms – he sought to capture this essence in a timepiece. This fascination led to the creation of the Mystery watch, an elegant tribute to the freedom and mystique of time itself, where traditional hands were replaced by a single rotating disc displaying only the hour.

Two years later, the Double Mystery was unveiled globally, introducing two rotating discs that seamlessly marked both hours and minutes. This evolution culminated in the Triple Mystery, a third rotating seconds disc brings even greater depth to the passage of time, pushing horological artistry once more.

At first glance, the dial seems to float in motion, its display untethered by traditional hands. But look closer and you’ll witness an intricate ballet of three rotating discs, each tirelessly marking the passage of hours, minutes and, for the first time, seconds.

At the heart of this timepiece, the MVD 2800-TMY movement powers three independent rotating discs while maintaining exceptional precision and stability. The integration of the second’s disc, with its rapid rotation, required a major technical development to ensure optimal energy efficiency and reliability.

To achieve this, engineers designed a skeletonised central plate, combining structural rigidity with extreme lightness, ensuring smooth operation without compromising performance. The entire seconds disc weighs just 0.052g, with the arrow indicator at 0.002g, the diamond at 0.003g, and the skeleton pastille at 0.047g. This delicate balance was meticulously engineered to ensure the seconds disc rotates effortlessly without disrupting the movement’s performance.

At its centre, a delicate geometric motif, reminiscent of a spirograph, reinforces the theme of continuous motion. A triangle-cut diamond serves as the seconds indicator, adding both function and visual intrigue while capturing the rhythm of time.

More than a timekeeper, the Round Triple Mystery is a story of defiance and imagination. It bends the very language of time, transforming the mystery of hours, minutes and seconds into a captivating ballet of light and motion. Every element has been conceived to enhance the mesmerising display of hours, minutes and seconds and elevate the experience of time itself, a tribute to the spirit of invention, and to those who believe mystery is not something to be solved, but something to be savoured.

Measuring 39mm in diameter and featuring an impressive 42 hour power reserve, the Round Triple Mystery is available in rose and white gold.

Round Triple Mystery Baguette

A study in pure light, the seamless invisible setting transforms the Round Triple Mystery into a flawless surface of brilliance. Across the case, 145 baguette-cut diamonds totalling 11.64 carats are meticulously hand-set, while the dial is illuminated by 86 baguette-cut diamonds (6.91 carats). Using this highly specialised technique, each stone is set without visible prongs, allowing light to flow uninterrupted across the surface. The result is a luminous composition with the height of craftsmanship creating radiance in motion.

Round Triple Mystery Rainbow

A vibrant expression of colour, the Round Triple Mystery Rainbow is defined by its carefully orchestrated gradient of gemstones. At 10:10, the dial reveals its hidden choreography – a perfect circular gradation in complete harmony. Across the case, 120 sapphires, rubies, amethysts, and tsavorites (4.05 carats) are meticulously arranged, while the dial features 240 matching stones totalling 2.07 carats. Each gem is precisely selected and positioned to transition seamlessly, forming a continuous spectrum of light.

This chromatic harmony is enhanced by the purity of the round case, offering a striking balance between bold colour and timeless form.

The Round Triple Mystery Rainbow is also available in a full baguette version, reimagining the rainbow composition through baguette-cut gemstones. Its case is set with 48 baguette-cut sapphires, rubies, amethysts, and tsavorites (5.18 carats), while 142 matching baguette-cut gems (4.79 carats) extend across the dial in a precise, linear arrangement, perfectly set without visible prongs using the invisible setting technique.

Round Triple Mystery Skeleton

The Round Triple Mystery Skeleton reveals the full beauty and architecture of its movement through an open-worked design. Every bridge, gear, and lever is carefully finished to enhance depth and transparency, transforming the calibre into a living mechanical sculpture. Measuring just 0.3mm in width, each bridge reflects an extraordinary level of precision, balancing structural integrity with visual lightness.

Removing the gasket on the back of the Round Triple Mystery Skeleton has resulted in a clear back view of the skeletonised movement within, which is supported by a sapphire casing ring, machined from a solid block of synthetic sapphire using diamond tools. The casing ring is then meticulously polished to achieve full transparency while ensuring the accurate positioning and stable support of the movement within the case.

Framing this technical composition, the case is set with 120 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 3.9 carats, adding a refined brilliance that contrasts with the purity of the exposed movement.

Offering even more brilliance, the Round Triple Mystery Skeleton is also available in a variation featuring the skeletonised hour and minute discs fully set with diamonds. The case is adorned with 120 brilliant-cut diamonds, while a further 281 brilliant-cut diamonds illuminate the dial, reinforcing the interplay between structure and light.
